jewlz & leo...i'm so happy for both of you. i can barely see through my tears. i knew Leo was your baby from the first time you wrote about him, your love for him came through in every word. i was 100% convinced of it when i first talked to you! :-) my worries and fears for leo are now over.....he is safe, he is happy, he is well loved, and best of all, loved for who he is, unconditionally! Jewlz i couldn't think of a better mommy for Leo! you two truly are a team. i look forward to hearing about your adventures together and all leo's accomplishments!
I have been following Leo's life on this blog since first seeing him on Petfinder. I grew to love him and that spirit that kept him going through everything in his young little life.
I cried when you first found him a home. And then I cried even harder when that home didn't work out.
I was ready to submit an application if I found that your group would adopt to someone out of state. I was ready to fly up to Washington and drive him back to Northern Virginia. Just about then you detailed a day in Leo's life and I knew I couldn't give him what he needed. (I cried again because I was so in love with this brave little guy...)
I've been checking for updates and today I saw the BEST thing I could imagine seeing! That you, Jewlz, would become his forever-mom!!! There is no doubt from your writings that you love him beyond all love that there is, and no one could ever provide him the time and energy that you do.
I am so happy for you both! And all this good news comes the day after the one year anniversary when I had to have my beloved Bulldog Bailey. I know what love you have for Leo, because I have it for my Bailey. He gave me over 13 years of love and devotion - through the ups and downs in my life - he was always there for me.
Thanks for putting out this good news! My recent days have been solemn, remembering my dear boy. It helps to know Leo now has his forever home.
I have no doubt he will become a great dog and overcome his current physical problems. And he'll have you to thank for it.
Take care. And please, keep posting so I can keep up with him and your lives together.
